The program offers a rich array of baroque music by J.S. Bach, Marais, Rameau and Leclair, performed on period instruments by Edson Scheid and Daniel Stepner, baroque violins; Laura Jeppesen, viola da gamba; Catherine Liddell, theorbo, and Michael Sponseller, harpsichord.
The program includes J.S. Bach’s Sonata in E Minor, for violin and continuo and Trio Sonata in C Major; Marin Marais’ Pièces de viole, for gamba and continuo; Jean-Marie Leclair’s Sonata in A Major, for violin and continuo and Sonata for two violins; and Jean-Phillipe Rameau’s Concert en Trio No. 1 in C Minor Leclair.
Tickets for this event go on sale in late August at astonmagna.org. Ticket prices are: $40 in advance, $45 at the door. Children and students free; $15 for patrons under age 30 with ID. All seating is general admission.
